Doctor of Medicine (Oviedo). Master in Disasters and Emergency Medicine. Medical specialist in Emergency Medicine and member of the National Comission for the specialization of Emergency Medicine in representation of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. He has been working in the last 25 years as Medical Doctor in different Emergency Medical Services in Spain (currently in SAMU-Asturias), with clinical and planning expertise. He is the coordinator of the Mass Casualty Incident and Disaster Response technical working group (TWG) in SAMU-Asturias. Also member of emergency and disasters related TWG within World Health Organization. He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine of University of Oviedo (Spain), accredited as Full Professor by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA). Coordinator of the Prehospital Care and Disasters Research Group (GIAPREDE) in the Health Research Institute of Asturias (ISPA) . Has published in indexed journals more than 100 manuscripts related to public health, disasters and emergency care, and presented more than 80 communications to national and international congresses.
