When I was applying to the EMMPHID, I knew that being accepted will be a massive achievement. I was sure I will have an extraordinary experience because of the nature of the program merging students from different countries in one classroom and giving them the opportunity to share their experiences based on their different backgrounds. Well, now, after finishing the first semester in Oviedo, not only has the participation in this enlightening program has widened my perspectives on paramount humanitarian and disaster-related public health considerations, but I have also grown and matured while engaging in deep class discussions and taking part in the various case studies administered by knowledgeable professors. Even more, I had the opportunity to learn how to communicate in a basic conversation in Spanish in just three months. EMMPHID in Oviedo is definitely an unforgettable experience. I have learned as well as been touched by my coordinators, classmates, and professors.
